What started as a typical pre-war apartment complete with parquet floors, galley kitchen, and outdated bathrooms, was transformed into a stunning designer home.

The biggest impact was achieved by creating a smart new layout which included moving the kitchen across the room to create an open floor plan perfect for entertaining. Enlarging the master bathroom to accommodate an oversized rain shower stall, deep soaking tub, and double floating vanity also added tremendous value. 

Some other notable features included custom stained chevron flooring, a grasscloth-lined powder room with custom-built marble vanity, and built-in book shelves that hold a gel-burning fireplace.  The electrical and plumbing was completely upgraded to accommodate modern conveniences such a wall-thru air conditioner and a washer/dryer, which were discreetly concealed.  Inspired by the original spiral staircase and plaster crown molding, we leveraged and restored the home's classic details and seamlessly blended them with modern, high-end finishes to create a balanced, timeless design.
