Maximizing return on renovation
A lovely upper east side apartment had it all except a proper spa bathroom for the master suite. The existing was both outdated and unable to fit the functional needs of the current owners. The desire was to create a modern spa feel, while maintaining the classic character showcased in the rest of the apartment.
To increase the functionality, we added a double sink with floating vanity, dual built-in medicine cabinets for storage, a custom-sized shower niche, and moved the door location to improve flow.
Additional design work included: installing recessed ceiling lighting to supplement the wall sconces, applying a custom matte black window treatment with new moldings, boxing in the radiator pipe with custom venting, and wrapping the walls in over-sized marble subway tile for a classic feel, with a luxurious modern twist.
